3. Engineering & Structural Systems

Hydraulic Swing Beam Design

Unlike vertical guillotine shears, the upper blade assembly travels in a downward arc or "swing" motion, pivoting on two heavy-duty rear bearings.

  • Benefits: This setup minimizes structural friction, prevents sheet metal from getting wedged tightly between the upper and lower blades, and prolongs overall blade sharpness.

Return Mechanism (Nitrogen Cylinder)

The downward cutting stroke is entirely driven by the main hydraulic cylinders. Once the cut is complete, an independent nitrogen gas accumulator cylinder handles the return stroke, pulling the blade beam rapidly and smoothly back up to its starting position.

Material Hold-Down System

Features 13 built-in hydraulic hold-down plungers aligned directly in front of the blade. When the foot pedal is pressed, these plungers instantly pressurize and clamp down hard onto the sheet metal before the blade descends, preventing the material from sliding, pivoting, or flipping up mid-cut.

4. Operational Adjustments

  • Blade Clearance Mechanism: Located on the side of the machine is a manual adjustment handwheel equipped with a graduated scale indicator. This clearance must be calibrated according to your sheet thickness to ensure a clean, burr-free edge.

  • 4 Usable Cutting Edges: Both the top and bottom blades are rectangular monoblock tool steel (6CrW2Si material grade). They are engineered with 4 usable cutting edges—meaning if one side goes dull, you can unbolt, rotate, and reinstall the blade to use a fresh edge before needing a re-grind.

  • Shadow-Line Cutting: The machine includes a built-in lighting fixture that casts a distinct line shadow directly over the lower cutting edge. This allows operators to easily align custom markings on raw sheet metal manually.

5. Standard Electrical & Control Features

As a 2017-built unit, this machine is typically paired with a front-mounted digital display controller (such as an Estun E21S or E10 unit).

  • Controls and displays the precise positioning of the motorized backgauge ($X\text{-axis}$).

  • Features an integrated stroke counter to track total completed cuts.

  • Includes a mobile foot-pedal switch with a dedicated emergency stop button for rapid, single-operator control.
