IRON TUBE CUTTER

1. Saw Head & Motor Assembly (Top)

  • Electric Motor: The large, ribbed cylindrical unit at the top is a heavy-duty induction motor that drives the cutting blade.

  • Belt/Gear Guard: The grey protective arm enclosure on the right covers the drive belt or gears that transfer power from the motor to the saw spindle.

  • Operating Handle: The long black lever extending forward with an ergonomic grip allows the operator to manually pull the saw blade down through the workpiece. It typically includes an integrated trigger switch to start the blade.

  • Blade Guard: The semi-circular shroud in the center safely encloses the top half of the circular saw blade to protect the user from flying sparks and debris.

2. Swivel Base & Clamping Mechanism (Middle)

  • Swivel Mitre Base: The circular rotating joint directly under the saw arm allows the entire head assembly to pivot horizontally. This enables the operator to make angled (mitre) cuts on metal stock.

  • Material Vise: Extending to the left is a manual screw-type clamping vise with a T-handle. This locks the metal workpiece securely in place during a cut to ensure precision and safety.

3. Support Pedestal & Controls (Bottom)

  • Cabinet Stand (Pedestal): The machine is mounted on a tall, tapered grey sheet metal base. This elevates the cutting bed to a comfortable working height and often houses the internal coolant reservoir and pump.

  • Power Switch: A rotary on/off isolating switch (yellow with a red dial) is visible on the electrical box right below the motor.

  • Foot Pedal / lever: A metal lever sticks out near the base, which is typically used either to unlock the rotating head or to actuate a foot-operated clamp/coolant cycle depending on the specific model.

4. Condition & Setting

  • Setting: Like the previous machines, this unit is located outdoors or in an open-air yard, positioned next to stored equipment covered by large beige canvas tarps.

  • Condition: The machine is in used but intact condition, showing typical surface dust from storage or an active workshop environment
